Our Work

CHARTER SCHOOLS

Overview

Charter schools improve educational opportunities in areas that are most poorly served by public schools. According to a 2009 RAND Corporation study, charter schools show the most promise in improving graduation rates for high school students.  In addition,  a great number of charter schools have proven to outperform academically their non-charter counterparts.

RDF and its funding partners believe that education can break the cycle of poverty. Together, we are committed to continue investing in charter schools in order to create a better future for our children.

Among the loan products offered for Charter Schools are:

  • Acquisition Mini-Perm Financing / Refinancing
  • Construction / Rehabilitation Financing
  • Leasehold Improvement Loans

Case Study

With funds from RDF, Rocketship Education opened its first permanent campus in 2006 and in its second year of operations reported a higher quality educational outcome than other public schools in the city.
