CLLARO celebrates 51st Anniversary

“Celebrando Tiempo y Cultura” was appropriately selected as this year’s theme for CLLARO’s annual Bernie Valdez Awards Dinner celebration in Denver, Colorado.

CLLARO was organized in 1964 to address the needs of Latinos in Denver in education, job development, training & employment, and housing.  Over 400 guests from small business, government, and civic and community organizations came together to recognize the long history and significant impact CLLARO has made to improve the lives of Latinos in Colorado over the past half century.

Christine Alonzo, the Executive Director of CLLARO presided over event recognizing six community leaders in education, government, public policy, and community service.

As the only state-wide Latino organization in Colorado, CLLARO is focused on training community leaders to create positive change in their community.  One important programmatic initiative is developing research publications with critical data that can be uses as a guide to actively engage public policy and education issues for underrepresented Latinos.

Felicidades CLLARO on your 51st Anniversary serving the community!
