InTheCommunity | Sciences & Health building propels Berea College into the 21st Century

Founded in 1855, as the first interracial and co-education school in the South, Berea College is unlike any other institution.  This residential, liberal arts school firmly and intentionally embeds itself in the region of Appalachia while still drawing students from all over the country and the world.

Berea provides an educational opportunity for students who have great promise and limited economic resources.

RDF provided NMTC funding to Berea College for the development of their Natural Sciences and Health Building, which will house the college’s biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and nursing departments and will replace the existing outdated and undersized buildings. Funding provides students a top-notch STEM and health learning environment.

We are honored to continue to support Berea’s efforts to provide a college education for students who otherwise may not be able to afford to attend.
