Eric Salazar

Director of UnidosUS Affiliated Investments

Born and raised in NYC to Peruvian and Dominican immigrant parents, Eric Salazar learned the value of nonprofits early on. Through nonprofit programs, he received the support needed to help him earn a bachelor’s degree from Union College, a private liberal arts school in upstate NY. After college, Eric worked in the government and nonprofit sectors for over 20 years, serving children, the homeless, and senior populations. His most recent role was as Director of the Housing and Financial Empowerment component at UnidosUS. He expanded their homeownership network, established a national call center, and strengthened their service delivery models expanding their reach from 45,000 to 72,000 families annually in 5 years.

Having graduated from Arizona State University with a Masters in Nonprofit Leadership and Management, he transitioned to Raza Development Fund in January 2020, where he is Director of UnidosUS Affiliated Investments.

At RDF, he is establishing an outreach and technical assistance support program that will help RDF educate, inspire, and activate nonprofit organizations to develop earned income strategies, explore social enterprise opportunities, and seek CDFI investments along a path of transformational growth and impact in their communities.
