Ally Schmus

Investment Analyst  

Ally Schmus serves on RDF’s Education Team as an Investment Analyst while based out of Philadelphia, PA. In her role, Ally is responsible for growing the portfolio of Education loans by vetting investment opportunities, conducting due diligence and financial analysis, and defending credit memoranda which support RDF’s mission to serve diverse, under-resourced communities. She actively manages and monitors a portfolio of specific industry-focused impact investments, while also partnering with other investment professionals to evaluate credit risks and structure financing.

Ally graduated from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study with a degree in “Creative Producing for Comedy” in 2019. Prior to joining RDF, she was on the Portfolio Management Team at Nonprofit Finance Fund where she was first exposed to the CDFI Industry. She prides herself on using humor, creativity, and deep connections with others to support the diverse communities she serves. Coming from a non-financing background, it has been her mission to make complex financial information easy to understand and accessible to everyone.
