Frank Escobedo

Sr. Director of Operations

Frank Escobedo serves in the RDF’s Investment Department as Director of the Texas Region.  He joined the RDF familia in January 2021 and works to invest capital and create financial opportunities for Latinos and underserved and underprivileged families.  A native Texas, Escobedo attended Texas A&I University (NKA as Texas A&M University-Kingsville).  He started his career on the business side of news media in his native Laredo, Texas where he worked for the Hearst Corporation owned Laredo Morning Times as Vice President and General Manager.   

He continued his newspaper career having worked at the Arizona Republic where he successfully led the Republic’s Spanish language initiatives in Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.  His career then took him to Southern California where he worked for AH Belo Corporation’s the Riverside Press Enterprise as Publisher of La Prensa where he led them to become the largest single copy Hispanic publication in the United States with circulation of over 340,000.  He later led all of Southern California’s Hispanic media efforts for both the Press Enterprise and the Orange County Register.  He returned to Texas in 2014 where he was Publisher of AIM Media Texas’s Lower Rio Grande Valley newspapers and digital efforts for the Valley Morning Star (Harlingen), The Brownsville Herald and the Coastal Current (South Padre Island).
