Pedro Chaves - Raza Development Fund

Pedro, currently Deputy Chief Credit Officer, joined the RDF Familia in August 2020. Prior to joining RDF, he worked in the public finance banking, investor-owned utility industry, and public utility regulation. Pedro was raised in Bogota, Colombia, has lived in the Phoenix metropolitan area for over 22 years, is a graduate of Arizona State University, and is a proud father to a young boy. Pedro’s expertise includes financial and risk analysis, credit risk evaluation, and investor-owned utilities.

Accomplishments:

Currently serves as a member of Trellis’ board of directors (an Arizona non-profit focused on homeownership counseling, financial access, and neighborhood development).
Recipient of BankUnited’s 2018 MVP Award (the highest award given to employees annually by BankUnited’s President/CEO).
Testified as an expert witness on rate of return, rate base, revenue requirement, and financing matters.
