Sima Thakkar

Sr. Director of Health & Climate Equity

Sima Thakkar currently serves as Raza Development Fund’s Sr. Director of Health & Climate Equity. Her work aims to increase access to capital to help build more inclusive, racially equitable, and resilient communities. She is leading RDF’s efforts to reinforce and expand critical community health infrastructure as well as equitable approaches to climate finance.

Sima has over two decades of experience in community development and philanthropy working on programs focused on affordable housing, economic development, and homelessness programs in Phoenix, San Diego and Nashville. She is an Urban Planner with a Master of Regional Planning degree from Cornell University and B.A. in Urban Planning and Public Administration from Miami University. Sima also serves as Vice Chair for the Board of Directors of one•n•ten, an LGBTQ+ youth organization, and as Secretary for the Board of Directors of Trellis, a nonprofit dedicated to affordable housing in Phoenix.
